Serving the Outdoor/Environmental Education and Passive Recreation Needs of the Residents of Genesee County

Ligon Outdoor Education Center, located in the northeast corner of Genesee County, Michigan, offers 268 acres of pristine nature, over six miles of hiking trails, and a multitude of educational opportunities for students and teachers. Donated to the Genesee Intermediate School District by James and Mary Ligon of Almont, Michigan in 1975, Ligon Outdoor Education Center boasts an ideal spot for conferences, meetings, retreats, educational field trips, and getting in touch with nature.  Ligon is the perfect “out of classroom” learning environment.
