Serving the Outdoor/Environmental Education and Passive Recreation Needs of the Residents of Genesee County

Ligon Outdoor Center (LOC) is 268 acres of pristine wilderness located in the northeast corner of Genesee County, Michigan. Donated to the Genesee Intermediate School District by James and Mary Ligon of Almont, Michigan in 1975, Ligon Outdoor Center offers the ideal spot for meetings, retreats, and getting in touch with nature. Over six miles of hiking trails and a multitude of educational opportunities for students and teachers, highlights Ligon as a perfect "out of classroom" learning environment.
